26. Agreeance

Having poured himself a brandy David sat next to James his manner so light and breezy it disturbed even James.
The others were wilting under the weight a normal reaction, though they'd left that realm long ago.
"My wife is sedated, 'under the weather' at the moment Im sure she will come right eventually," David took a sip savouring.
James nodded his approval "My lovely wife to has come down with some strange ailment and can't leave her bed, Im sure it will pass eventually."

Where their wives had early that morning sat, they brandy in right hand cigar in left sat now all in agreeance about a strange illness likely to pass eventually.
They made their way to the chamber, shedding the tailored suits and donning the clerical robes.
"Come" The bedraggled deform entered and started lighting wall sconces and table candles.
Gracefully he moved placing bowls filling with shiny viscous and muttering an incantation.

Seating each one with a bow, no eye contact not a word just knowing who to seat where.
So James wasn't worried about not being seated with David who was flanked by Michael and Charles.
While he sat next to Willard who's fear was starting to wet his skin beneath his ruby robe.
Matthew and John were seated on the third side watching Willard and his candle still and erect.

25. Warn

They met in the dayroom of The Ministry Building the seven were a mix, of calm reserve to agitated fear.
James sat cigar in one hand brandy in other, observing the six men in their tailored attire.
One would not guess that thirteen years previous these six were blue collar men entering retirement.
They were younger healthier, most certainly more cultured and wealthy, James could not repress a wistful smile, nor keep the hunger from his eyes.

"Has anyone heard from Jeffrey?" James' voice shattered the nervous lull causing a couple of men to jump.
A unanimous shake of heads waved around the room James smiled at this amusing sight.
"Tell me how are your wives at this moment and more importantly where?"
Uncomfortable shifts and coughs bumbled about no-one willing to speak first a faux guilt bubbled but the fear was genuine and seeping in.

"Men we don't have the luxury of time where are your wives, what do they know and how do you plan to deal with them?"
'The town folk have already been spooked by Jack's little playmate and our wallflower rising in the cemetary caused further alarm."
He surveyed faux faces of men trying to be brave failing quite well, he smiled at each in turn.
"We can't have people remembering that would not do, your wives mustn't be let to warn or enlighten."

24. Haven

The road to Maya's home lined one side with Willow and Elder the other with Hazel and Birch all eerily lit at their roots.
Suddenly a Mighty Oak appeared in front of them strong imposing yet exuding a calm presence.
Maya smiled as the three released all tension upon sighting the 'Guardian' Maya released love.
Driving around the giant Maya's home was visible beneath a blanket of Ivy.

Parking beneath a Wisteria draped pergola gnarly yet wistfully entwined was joyous.
Their moods lightened with no evidence of having seen the spectre or strange symbols on Jo-al's covered bridge.
Following Maya to the house, Minx bounding like a pup the air alive with sprites dancing in her aura.
Sam looked to Jack to see if he noticed them he was smiling at Minx' free spirit naturally without question.

Giggling Maya remarked "they see her as one of their own, it is her freedom that joins them."
Feeling herself bubble with joy at sharing this with Maya Sam said "Yes that is quite apparent, how wonderful!"
Jack looked confused Maya and Sam sent love so he could relax a little, then explained what was going on.
"Oh okay, that's odd," He stammered "why can't I see them," Maya answered "You could if you wanted to."

23. Glimpse

Through leafy glade they traipsed, fall dusk air, fresh and cool, night shy but certain.
With last light their environ sighed then breathed freely, Sam and Jack relaxed.
She was aware of the other realm but seeing them in human form gave her the heebee jeebees.
Frowning as she recognised where they were, Jo-al's beautiful bridge.

"What are we meant to do?" Sam asked the other two, "is there something special here?"
Minx looked at Jack and Sam before slinking over to the side pillars and running her hands over the finely carved design.
Sam wished it was daylight she could barely make out the ceiling, it's many beams casting ominous shadows.
Jack followed her eye in awe he stood staring at the star and foreign script "wow" he exhaled.

Just then the shadows started sliding Sam glimpsed some of the detail Jack had seen before it disappeared in headlight shine and shade.
The driver stopped and got out the silhouette female that eased some tension in the group.
"Evening guys fancy seeing you out here at this time of light," Maya's smile was in her voice.
"Jo-al was a master though young I've photo's of his earlier work would you like to see?"
