22. Momentum

Leaving the town square with thoughts untethered, breaching a lifetime of safeguards.
In a sombre haze with vapid stride moving forward not seeing where or knowing why.
Jack heard their steps saw Minx and Sam heads low in thought, he followed.
Sam couldn't look up not meaning to be rude, just not wanting to freak right out!

Minx' energy was a strong sweet ambience enveloping the three of them.
She was unafraid taking in every emotion, this is why she had come to Hallow Springs.
A rock Jack followed seemingly oblivious, Sam could see it and feel it she was uneasy.
Becoming aware of Minx' vibrance, lucidity fell in whispers upon the rock then he could see.

The low suns dappled light through turning leaves created a surreal scene.
Which in rippled an impossible vista true and yet intangible, inconceivable.
Jo-al but how Jack's tortured brow accented the turmoil brewing deep within.
His step faltered but he kept on unable to resist the strange momentum that carried them.

21. Sacrifice

Elisa's eyes were slow to open yet her mind was a maelstrom of panic.
Peering through heavy lids, seeing various shades of grey, dancing it seemed.
Her mind foggy not fighting the visual input she lay watching the phantoms.
She went to speak her mouth bound, numb with throat dry a groan escaped.

"Elisa do you remember how our love saved us from near poverty, bringing us here."
James leaned over his wife, she could see a deep hunger dark in his eyes making her flinch.
"We made it my love and Hallow Springs produced opportunity beyond our dreams."
He gently ran a hand down her cheek, his touch so cold chills prickled her skin.

Fear held her heart, unable to move her leaden form, she simply watched and listened.
"I'm not the same man, I am more I am all and no-one knows what I've sacrificed."
Lost in thought he whispered. "What I'm willing to give." Elisa whimpered, wetting.
Grey danced seductively around James he kissed her forehead the shadows kissed her naked form.

20. Love

As steel dusk encroached and bled she paced their day room wringing her hands.
After numerous e-speak and apprehension feminine resolve decided their action.
Elisa pacing the room as the past flashed backed, in spurts and spatters bloody.
Nodding her head at her ignorance, and denial, tears forming as the painful truth played.


Their men duplicitous behind a sparse web, her rose veil failing, knowledge breaching.
Mercury guilt scoured her veins crippling her at the knee to an involuntary genuflection.
Jo-al had passed on not simply left they had suspected as much, but ignored their heart and mind-scream.
The disappearance not coincidental but a part of this, this darkness, this terror to what end she couldn't guess.


James entered, seeing his wife he ran to her side kneeling he embraced her lovingly with worried heart.
"Love what is wrong?" his voice concerned, even shocked to see Elisa so, "Where do you hurt?"
He felt her body stiffen at his touch her essence cooling then burning him, and cutting him out, he flinched.
Stroking her faced he whispered "it will be alright my lovely, you'll see" his depth chilling.

19. Menage

A zephyr of ancient essence drifted to Maya delicate yet urgent gifting knowledge.
Maya's shoulders felt small under the beast accepting she had no choice but was chosen.
She looked around at her patrons who dined oblivious to her strain and the vehemence that was at the bones of Hallow Springs.
The apparition moved out of Civilisation and over to the three Minx jumped Sam frowned and Jack wondered what had come over the girls.

"Look" said Sam with a nod of her head toward Maya in Civilisation "I felt her just then as that force passed by."
Sam thought Maya's look was grave and she guessed that big changes were afoot.
Minx nodded with Sam and at Maya as she stood taking in the disturbed atmosphere.
She turned to The Ministry Building and watched as the ladies unaccompanied but carrying fear left after comforting touch and nods of consent.

With purpose Elisa headed home heart racing mind churning stomach trying to fathom what their men were and were up to.
They were to prepare for the confrontation with their husbands, what, why, when and how, it should've been done years ago.
James and the other men stood watching as Cecilia took her last breathe, her face once a beautiful agony now void.
"Come" James said the bedraggled form came beating away the keening shadow it seemed stronger now "Sherman!" James commanded "she is gone forever."
